You will be surprised to know that Google has given Apple 20 billion dollars i.e. about Rs 1,66,928 crore to become the default search engine in Apple's Safari browser. This has been revealed in a Bloomberg report.

Google's parent company Alphabet paid Apple $20 billion to have Google become the default search engine in the Safari browser, according to Bloomberg, which cited unsealed court documents from the US government's Justice Department lawsuit against Google.

The US Justice Department is now investigating whether Google abused its position to dominate the market and eliminate competition in the advertising sector other than search engines.

Google paid Apple in 2020. It is being said that this payment made by Google constituted 17.5% of Apple's operating income. Microsoft had also tried to make a proposal to Apple to make Bing the default search engine in Safari, but the matter did not work out.
