Sam Altman is preparing to take on Elon Musk, OpenAI will launch this new social media app
OpenAI: If OpenAI really launches this social media platform, then the ongoing business competition between Elon Musk and Sam Altman can intensify even more. Let us remind you, that in February this year, Elon Musk made an unsolicited offer to buy OpenAI for $97.4 billion (about Rs 8 lakh crore).

OpenAI is now planning to launch a social media site capable of directly competing with Elon Musk's 'X' or Twitter. The Verge report says that the work is yet in its early phase, but the prototype being developed in-house is based upon ChatGPT's ability to generate images, which is being integrated with a social media-like feed.
According to the report, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman took silent feedback from external experts on this idea, though whether OpenAI will release this social network as an independent app or will include it directly in the ChatGPT app is still to be decided. The ChatGPT app has just become number one globally in terms of downloads.

In February this year, Elon Musk made an unsolicited offer to buy OpenAI for $97.4 billion (about Rs 8 lakh crore). Altman jokingly replied to this, "No thanks, but if you want, we are ready to buy Twitter for $9.74 billion."
If OpenAI moves in this direction, it will also compete with Meta, which is working on its AI assistant app. This app is also likely to come with a social feed. When news of Meta's project broke, Sam Altman jokingly wrote on X, "Well, maybe we'll have to make a social app." Now it will be interesting to see how OpenAI presents this social network and whether it will really be able to directly challenge X and Meta!
