According to a report by an English website, Sunil Gavaskar has agreed to give money to Vinod Kambli on a monthly basis through CHAMPS Foundation. Now he will receive 30 thousand rupees every month. In addition, medical aid of 30 thousand rupees will be given annually.
The former Indian cricketer was admitted to a hospital in Thane in December last year after complaining of a urinary infection and cramps. After treatment, he was discharged in January 2025. Sunil Gavaskar had promised financial help to him in view of his poor health. He had said that the 1983 World Cup-winning team would help him.
Vinod Kambli's wife Andrea Hewitt had revealed in January 2025 that she wanted to divorce him. For this, she had filed for divorce in 2023, but she withdrew it in view of Vinod Kambli's poor health. She had told that she was always worried about his health. Kambli needs her, so she changes her decision of divorce.
