FIR registered against husband on woman's complaint, for giving triple talaq over phone
Giving triple talaq to his wife over the phone proved costly for a man. Police have registered a case against the accused husband on the woman's complaint and started an investigation. Police say that the woman's claims will be investigated in the investigation. Action will be taken if the facts are found to be correct. The woman has been living separately from her husband for the last one year.

A triple talaq case has emerged in Kerala. The husband uttered the triple talaq on the telephone with regard to his wife with whom he had one year of separation. Police have filed a case against the alleged husband on the basis of the woman's complaint. The husband rang up on the woman's father's phone and uttered the triple talaq, on account of which the woman made the complaint with the police.
According to the police, on the woman's complaint, an FIR has been filed under sections 498A (cruelty), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Muslim Women (Protection of Marriage Rights) Act.
Police said that the woman from Kondatti has been living separately from her husband for the last one year. She has alleged that when she was at her in-laws' house, her husband and other family members tortured her. Due to this, a case has been registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Police say that a case has been registered on the complaint. But further action will be taken after investigating the matter. It will be seen whether the woman's claim is correct or not.
The victim had lodged her complaint against her husband in the women's cell. An officer there said that we had seized the phone on which the husband had allegedly called. It has a recording of giving triple talaq. We will confirm it. After this, further steps will be taken. The officer said that after verification, if needed, some sections will be removed from the FIR.
