Commercial vehicle sales of Tata Motors Limited fell by 19% during the second quarter of FY 2024-25. Simultaneously, the sales of passenger vehicles reduced by 6% on a year-on-year basis. The overall sales the company has recorded are 2,15,034 vehicles. This accounts for a reduction of 12% over 2,43,024 units sold in the same period last year. Poor performance on both fronts of commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles has resulted in a decline in sales.

Coming to the domestic market, Tata Motors sold 69,694 vehicles in September 2024. This is 15% less as compared to September 2023. The total number of vehicles sold by Tata Motors domestically in the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25 stood at 2,09,861. This is 11% less than the 2,37,128 vehicles that were sold in the second quarter of the previous financial year.

In the commercial vehicle category, it was the second quarter of the financial year that remained the toughest for it. Its commercial vehicles, which had touched 1,04,085 in the said quarter last year, came down to 84,281 this time.
