Mumbai CNG Gets Costlier Again as Global Energy Markets Remain Volatile

The cost of CNG in Mumbai and MMR has once again increased in wake of unrest in the West Asian countries and uncertainty in the energy markets. The retail price of CNG has gone up by Rs. 2 per kg.
The revised price list came into effect at midnight on 29th May, 2026. The price of CNG in Mumbai has increased from Rs. 84 to Rs. 86 per kg. It would impact the private car drivers, taxi and auto drivers, and other commercial vehicles. The company has issued instructions to all dealers to implement the revised rates.
Earlier, on May 14, CNG prices were increased by Rs 2 per kilogram. This is the second price hike in just 17 days. MGL currently supplies CNG to several areas, including Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Chitradurga, Davangere, Latur, and Osmanabad.
