Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has accomplished another milestone in the world of renewable energy generation. The firm has crossed the 20 GW capacity mark of operational renewable energy capacity. It is the first renewable energy company from India to achieve this through greenfield expansion. The company made this announcement on Wednesday.
The Adani Group subsidiary produces more than 52 billion units of clean power annually. That accounts for about three percent of India’s total electricity consumption. According to Sagar Adani, the executive director of the company, it is an accomplishment that is made due to strategic planning and planning for the future.
It is also worth noting that the firm supplies the equivalent of annual electricity requirements of Mumbai and New Delhi cities put together. This supports energy security of India and fast tracks the transition to green energy sources. The milestone was achieved shortly after Sagar Adani addressed the Adani Green Energy Dialogue in London.
