Bill Gates expressed regret after 50 years, said- 'If I had completed my studies then...'
Bill Gates: In 1974, Bill Gates left Harvard and started setting up Microsoft company. However, now after 50 years, Gates said that he regrets this.

Bill Gates, the Microsoft co-founder, has lately admitted that he wishes that he had not dropped out of Harvard University. He spoke candidly of how and why he left college in 1975 and became the founding CEO of Microsoft in Source Code. This decision gave the world a giant technology firm like Microsoft, yet Gates never had any intention of remaining away from Harvard.
In an interview with CNBC Make It, Gates said, "I really enjoyed studying at Harvard. I used to sit in classes on many subjects, even if they were not part of my course. I was interested in studying things like psychology, economics, and history. The most special thing was that there were very smart people there, with whom interesting discussions would go on till late night."
Bill Gates had a dream of changing the world of computers since high school. He understood then that in the future computers with microprocessors would become small, cheap, and portable. During the Christmas break of 1974, his college friend and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen decided that he would create software for the Altair computer so that hobbyists could develop their own programs. This was the decision that pushed Gates and Allen to leave college and form Microsoft.
Gates tried to manage studies and Microsoft simultaneously for two years before leaving Harvard. He also tried to hand over the responsibility of the company to his fellow programmer Rick Weiland, but when he decided to go to graduate school, Gates realized that now he would have to focus completely on Microsoft. After this, he said goodbye to Harvard and put his full focus on making Microsoft a big company.
Today Microsoft has become a multinational technology company, which has completely changed the computer and software industry in the world. However, Gates' professor Harry Lewis also has some regrets about leaving Harvard. He said, "I was not surprised when Gates left Harvard, but I wish I had invested in him."
