Beth Mooney and Alana King Create History With Record 106-Run Partnership for Ninth Wicket

In the match against Pakistan at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Australian batsman Beth Mooney and bowler Alana King created history by setting a new world record for the ninth wicket stand in women's ODI cricket.

Australia was in trouble after losing 8 wickets for 115 runs against Pakistan. Beth Mooney, batting at number four, was at the crease, and Alana King came in to bat at number 10 to support her. Mooney and Alana made the Pakistani bowlers yearn for wickets.

The two batted for 16 overs and added 106 runs. This is a world record for the ninth wicket in women's ODI cricket. The previous ODI record for the ninth wicket was 77, set by Australians Ashleigh Gardner and Kim Garth against South Africa in 2024.

Beth Mooney was dismissed on the last ball of the innings. Mooney scored 109 runs off 114 balls, hitting 11 fours. Alana King was dismissed for 51 runs off 49 balls.
