Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses Get Messaging, Navigation, and Recording Features
Meta has announced a new software update for the Ray-Ban Display. This update includes several new features. One notable feature, "Neural Handwriting," is being rolled out to all users.
According to reports, Meta Ray-Ban Display receives a software upgrade by Meta. The upgraded model comes with enhancements such as improved accessibilities tools, enhanced messaging capability, new recorders, and ease of navigation among others that were mentioned at the time of unveiling the model. Additionally, the company gives developers access to the platform, hence allowing them to develop web apps and extending mobile applications to support the glasses. Further upgrades and new AI functionalities are expected from Meta in the coming months.
Neural handwriting technology has been released officially across the board. As noted in its blog entry, Neural handwriting functionality will be available to all customers through its integration with Neural Band to allow them write messages using finger gestures on Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and the default messaging application on Android and iOS.
The company has also introduced a display recording feature that combines the content displayed on the glasses' display, the user's camera feed, and audio into a single video. The company also stated that turn-by-turn navigation is now available across the US and in major cities like London, Paris, and Rome.
