Ban on laser shows around Kolkata airport
Laser shows have been banned around Kolkata airport in West Bengal. Due to this, the aircraft was facing problems in take-off and landing.
West Bengal's Bidhannagar Police Commissioner has outlawed laser shows near Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. The local administration has prohibited the use of laser light shows under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in areas surrounding eight police stations in North 24 Parganas, following complaints from the airport authorities. The ban is in effect from Wednesday until June 29. According to a notification from the airport, laser light shows are not permitted in the vicinity of Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport by the West Bengal Police. This offense carries penalties. Refrain from engaging in such activities.
The airport administration said that complaints regarding lasers had come from pilots and crew of domestic flights. Due to this, there is a greater risk of aircraft accidents during takeoff and landing. According to this order, it is necessary to immediately stop the laser beam around the NSCBI airport for the safety of human life and aircraft.
