Assam Rifles joint operation in Tripura seized narcotics worth Rs 16 crore
Assam Rifles has achieved major success in Tripura. In a joint operation, the Rifles seized 1 kg of narcotics worth Rs 16 crore in Badharghat. Assam Rifles launched a rapid operation in Tripura. Which was handed over to the Customs Department. This operation is in addition to the successful operations carried out by Assam Rifles in the fight against drug trafficking.
Assam Rifles have achieved huge success in Tripura. Actually, in a joint operation, the Rifles seized 1 kg of narcotics worth Rs 16 crore in Badharghat. The Assam Rifles launched a rapid operation in Tripura. Which was handed over to the Customs Department.
The operation also supplements the efforts of two successful operations conducted by Assam Rifles against drug trafficking.
According to a press statement from Assam Rifles, earlier Assam Rifles in two joint operations with Anti-Narcotics Squad of Mizoram had recovered 107 grams of heroin worth Rs 74.90 lakh and arrested three persons.
Both operations were conducted on November 20 in the Dawrpui and Thuampui areas of Aizawl, Mizoram.
The arrested accused have been identified as Lalpeksanga (29) and Lalphumkima (22), residing in the Selam Veng area, Dawrpui, Aizawl, while the third accused arrested in the second operation has been identified as Lalchvisangi (35), resident of Champhai.
According to the Police, on the strength of specific intelligence, two different joint operations were executed by the officers of Assam Rifles and Anti-Narcotics Squad on Wednesday. The volume of contraband was carried in a transparent polythene cover by the suspects.
The seized consignment along with the arrested persons has been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Exercise and Narcotics Department of Mizoram for further legal action, as per the release.
