During the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian men's cricket team did not exchange hands with Pakistani players or their support staff. The players of Team India also declined to receive the trophy and medals from Pakistan's Home Minister and ACC President Mohsin Naqvi. The tournament is over, but controversy about India-Pakistan cricket matches exists. On Thursday, Pakistan women played against Bangladesh, but even there, the former Pakistani skipper stirred controversy with her remark regarding Azad Kashmir.

Former Pakistani skipper Sana Mir made a remark regarding Kashmir during commentary that ignited a storm. The ICC might take action against her over this act. Speaking about Pakistani player Natalia Pervez, Sana Mir said that she comes from Azad Kashmir. This controversy erupted while she was commentating during the third match of the Women's World Cup 2025 between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat in this match played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. However, before the start of the match, Sana Mir, while talking about batsman Natalia Pervez, said that Natalia is from 'Azad Kashmir' and has to travel to Lahore to play cricket. Her statement sparked an uproar, and various posts began circulating on social media. A complaint has been filed with the ICC, and a decision could be announced any time.

Sana Mir's statement is rapidly going viral on social media. Indian cricket fans are calling it irresponsible. Seeing the issue escalate, Sana Mir has issued a clarification. Sana Mir said, "My statement is being unfairly exaggerated. Unnecessary pressure is being put on athletes on the field. I am having to publicly clarify this issue, which is disappointing. I spoke about Pakistani player Natalia Pervez. My intention was simply to highlight her story of hard work and struggle. As commentators, we talk about where players come from and what struggles they have faced."

Sana further said, "As a commentator on the World Feed, our focus is on the inspiring stories of sports, teams, and players. I had no ill will or intention to hurt anyone's feelings. The information I provided about players from Pakistan or other countries was based on my research. That information may have been changed now, but I spoke based on that."
