While smart devices make life more convenient, they can also pose risks. Recently, a similar incident happened to tech creator Daniel, whose smart ring got stuck on his finger, leading to a hospital visit. Daniel was wearing a Samsung Galaxy Smart Ring when suddenly, the battery started to swell, causing it to become stuck.
He was about to board a flight, but the pain became so intense that airline staff, noticing his condition, prevented him from boarding and took him to the hospital. Daniel shared photos on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) asking for help, showing that the inner part of the ring was swollen and causing increasing pain. He tagged Samsung, saying the ring wouldn't come off and that he needed urgent assistance.

A few hours later, he posted again, revealing that doctors had finally removed the ring. He explained that he had applied soap and hand cream while trying to remove it, which made the battery swell even more. At the hospital, doctors first reduced the swelling with ice and then used medical lubricant to remove the device. Once the story went viral online, Samsung apologized and contacted him directly. However, after leaving the hospital, Daniel announced he would never use the device again.
