Wayanad Landslide: Four villages have been completely destroyed in two landslides in the Wayanad district of Kerala. More than 300 people lost their lives. So far 74 bodies have not been identified. Now the administration has decided to bury these bodies in the cemeteries of seven villages and one municipality area. These bodies will be buried after the necessary procedure.

On July 30, a landslide caused massive destruction in Wayanad district of Kerala. So far more than 300 people have lost their lives and 264 people are injured in this natural disaster. So far 199 bodies have been post-mortemed. 74 bodies have not been identified.

According to Kerala Health Minister Veena George, DNA samples of 130 bodies have also been collected. All unidentified bodies will be buried in the cemetery.

Unidentified bodies will be buried in seven villages and one municipal area. These bodies could not be identified. According to officials, arrangements have been made to bury the bodies in the cemeteries of many villages including Kalpetta Municipality, Vythiri, Muttil, Kaniyambatta, Padinjathara, Thondarnad, Edavaka and Mulankolli Gram Panchayats.

All 74 unidentified bodies have been kept in Meppadi Gram Panchayat. These bodies will be handed over to the local self-government secretaries. After this, they will be buried after completing the necessary process. Inspector General of the Registration Department Sridhanya Suresh has been made the nodal officer. Suresh will be responsible for the registration and burial of the bodies.
