A bench headed by Justice B.R. Gavai will hear on Friday the plea on alleged adulteration of animal fat in 'Tirupati Laddus', a bunch of petitions including also a demand for a court-monitored probe.

But the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had requested the court to ensure the hearing in this case on Thursday afternoon for Friday morning. The bench led by Justice BR Gavai accepted this request and asked to hear it as the first case on Friday morning.

The court had earlier asked Mehta on September 30 to assist it in deciding whether the case relating to Tirupati laddu would be investigated by the SIT appointed by the state or it should be referred to an independent agency.

It also said that God should be kept away from politics. The court had also said that the laboratory test report was not clear as prima facie it seems that rejected ghee was tested.
