Cheteshwar Pujara's big statement about Yashasvi Jaiswal before Perth Test

Jaiswal has played 14 Tests so far for India in which he scored 1407 runs including three centuries and eight half-centuries. He has become India's first-choice opener in red-ball cricket alongside captain Rohit Sharma.

But with Rohit's absence in the opening match of the series due to the birth of his second child, the responsibility falls on vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah, who will be leading the team in Perth. Pujara also praised Bumrah, saying that the latter understands the match situation quite well and would do the job nicely in the absence of the regular captain.

He said, "He is a great player. Bumrah is a very smart player. As a bowler, you should be well aware of your strength and strategy. Whenever he scores runs, he always tries to take wickets. When you want to take wickets as a bowler, you should think about the game."
