The country's banks and non-banking lenders have become known for their strong capital adequacy, low levels of non-performing assets, and profitable operations. Shaktikanta Das, Governor of the Central Bank of India (RBI), stated this.

During an event in Mumbai, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that India's domestic financial system is now in a much stronger position than before the COVID crisis. RBI Governor Das said this during the inauguration of a session related to 'keeping the financial system flexible, future-ready and able to deal with the crisis' in Mumbai.

"I would like to congratulate the banks and other financial sector entities for such a stellar performance in the financial year ended March 31. There is absolutely no room for complacency because the world is changing, challenges are coming, complexities are increasing, and problems can arise from any corner of the financial system within the country, or the world because of something that may be completely unknown to you and me. But we have to do our best," Das said.
