Southern Railway issued a release stating that the PM will launch two new trains in Chennai through video conferencing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off two Vande Bharat trains in Chennai on Saturday. News agency PTI gave this information quoting Southern Railway.

The new trains will be operated from Dr. MGR Chennai Central to Nagercoil and Madurai to Bengaluru Cantonment. According to the official release of the Railways, Prime Minister Modi will join the program through video conferencing and flag off the train services.

The release said that the train to Nagercoil will be flagged off from Dr. MGR Chennai Central Station only on the inauguration day, but the regular service will be from Chennai Egmore. This train will run on all days except Wednesday.

On the same day, at 1.50 pm, train 20627 will arrive in Nagercoil from Chennai Egmore at 5 am. Before arriving at Nagercoil Junction, it will make stops at Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchirapalli, Dindugal, Madurai, Kovilpatti, and Tirunelveli.

At 2:20 pm, train 20628 will leave Nagercoil Junction and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 11 pm. The Vande Bharat Seva will run six days a week, excluding Tuesday, between Madurai and Bengaluru cantonment.

The release said that train number 20671 would leave Madurai at 5.15 am and reach Bengaluru Cantonment at 1 pm. It will depart from Bengaluru Cantonment at 1.30 pm and reach Madurai at 9.45 pm, with stoppages on both sides being Dindugal, Tiruchirapalli, Karur, Namakkal, Salem and Krishnarajapuram.
