Nubia Z80 Ultra With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 144Hz Display Set to Launch in October
The Nubia Z80 Ultra is set to launch in China in October. The company has confirmed that it will feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. A camera sample has also been shared, revealing a 1/1.55-inch sensor and an f/1.8 aperture. This phone will be the successor to last year's Nubia Z70 Ultra.
The Nubia Z 80 Ultra is set to launch soon in China, confirmed ZTE Mobile Devices President Ni Fei on Weibo this Friday. The upcoming flagship will be powered by Qualcomm' s newly released Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The company also shared a camera sample showing a 1/1. 55- inch sensor. The Nubia Z 80 Ultra will feature a full- screen display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and a 380 Hz touch sampling rate. It will succeed last year' s Nubia Z 70 Ultra.
Ni Fei and Nubia announced that the Nubia Z 80 Ultra will launch in China in October. It will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The executive also posted a camera sample on Weibo, confirming a 1/1. 55- inch sensor with an f/1. 8 aperture and a 'seven- element lens setup' (translated from Chinese).
As with its predecessor, the Nubia Z 80 Ultra will have a full- screen display without a notch or punch- hole cutout, indicating an under- display front camera. The display supports a 144 Hz refresh rate, 360 Hz touch sampling rate, and 3, 000 instantaneous touch sampling rate.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 was announced at the annual Snapdragon Tech Summit on Wednesday. Built on a 3nm process technology, it claims to deliver 20% more performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
This new Qualcomm processor features two prime CPU cores clocked at 4. 6 GHz and six performance cores running at 3. 62 GHz. Besides Nubia, iQOO, OnePlus, and Realme also confirmed that their upcoming flagship phones will feature this Snapdragon chipset. Xiaomi' s new 17 series is the first to showcase this chip.
The upcoming Nubia Z 80 Ultra will be an upgrade from the Z 70 Ultra launched last year. The Nubia Z 70 Ultra had a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, up to 24GB of RAM, and a 6, 150 mAh battery with 80 W fast charging. It featured a 6. 85- inch AMOLED display and a triple rear camera setup, including a 50 MP primary sensor and a 64 MP telephoto lens.
The Nubia Z 70 Ultra was launched at a starting price of CNY 4, 4,599 (roughly Rs. 53, 53,700) for the 12GB + 256GB variant.
