Now you can react to any message with stickers, now chatting will be fun on WhatsApp

WhatsApp added the emoji reaction feature way back in December of 2024, such that people would be able to react to a message using emojis, and now another interesting feature is set to arrive on this Meta-owned platform. WhatsApp is reportedly developing a feature where people will be able to react using stickers as well. It's not just an expansion of the existing feature, though - this is a step towards making the experience even more entertaining and expressive.

Of note here is the fact that this feature already exists on Meta's other platform, Instagram, although currently just for the iOS client. Meanwhile, WhatsApp's new sticker reaction feature will be arriving on both Android and iOS, according to WABetaInfo.

After the new update, users will be able to react to any message or media with stickers. For this, users will be able to choose stickers from WhatsApp's sticker keyboard, whether it is downloaded from WhatsApp's official sticker store or imported from third-party apps. Pre-saved stickers will also be used in this feature.

This feature will be especially useful on occasions where simple emojis are not able to fully express emotions. For example, if someone sends a funny voice note or meme in the group, then sending a fun animated sticker, such as a sticker of a character laughing loudly, can make the conversation even more interesting. Currently, this feature is in the development stage and is expected to be rolled out with a future WhatsApp update.
