Meta's photo-sharing platform i.e. Instagram has brought a new feature for its users. This feature has already been seen in the company's messaging app. The feature we are talking about is to turn off read receipts. A similar feature is now coming to Instagram. Head Adam Mosseri has also given this information.
There are millions of Instagram users in India who share their photos and videos. Recently Meta has introduced a new feature for its Instagram, which was first introduced in WhatsApp.
In WhatsApp, you get a feature in which you can turn off read receipts. This allows you to read messages privately. Now this feature is coming to Instagram also.
Feature will be available on Instagram:
Both the CEO of Meta and the head of Instagram gave the same information on their social media platforms.
Adam Mosseri revealed on Instagram that he is testing a new feature that will allow users to turn off read receipts.
Mark Zuckerberg DM'd that if you're the kind of person who leaves people reading. We're testing the ability to turn off read receipts on Instagram DMs.
Apart from this, Adam said, now people can also choose to see whose messages they can read.
Let us tell you that it is currently under testing and both the CEOs will give information about it.
What are read receipts?
This feature works when you message someone. When a direct message is sent, a read receipt is generated, which shows that you have received the message. It works exactly like the blue tick works in WhatsApp.
Although this is a great feature, if you do not want to reply immediately then this feature may not work in such a situation.
However, no information has been given about how the new feature works. According to the screenshot shared by Mosseri, there will be a toggle to control the feature.
