Indian Army officials on Wednesday said a comprehensive review of the promotion policy for the selection of officers in the rank of Colonel and above has been finalised. In this new policy of the army, both internal and external aspects have been taken care of.

The new policy will help in better understanding the leadership requirements required to meet the current situation as well as emerging operational challenges and take promotion decisions accordingly. The new promotion policy will provide increased opportunities for promotion to the officers.
