MS Dhoni: Amid speculations of retirement from IPL, a statement by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star player Mahendra Singh Dhoni has come to the fore, in which he has revealed his upcoming plans.

In this circumstance, rumors are emerging regarding his retirement in the ongoing IPL season (IPL 2025). There is a huge discussion on social networking sites as well among cricket fans regarding his retirement. However, among all this, his statement has come into light, in which he has made his position clear in terms of his retirement from the IPL, as up till when he would be spotted playing on the ground.
In a pre-recorded podcast, MS Dhoni said that he intends to play the entire season in 2025 and will decide in the coming months for next year. He said, "Not yet (about retirement). I am still playing IPL, I take it very simple, I think about one year at a time."
The captain, who led CSK to the IPL title five times, further said in a pre-recorded podcast, "I am 43 years old. By this July I will be 44 years old. I have 10 months to decide whether I want to play another year or not. It is not me who is deciding, it is the body that tells you whether you can play or not. One year at a time. Right now, the full focus is on what needs to be done. We will see after that, after 8-10 months."
After Chennai Super Kings' defeat to Delhi Capitals in the last match of IPL, coach Stephen Fleming was also questioned about MS Dhoni's retirement. On this, he said that there has been no discussion with Dhoni regarding retirement. It is not my job to put an end to speculation. I have no information about it. I still enjoy working with him. He is still going strong. I don't even ask these days. You guys are the ones who ask about it.
MS Dhoni holds the record for playing the most matches in IPL. He has played 268 IPL matches so far and has led Chennai Super Kings to the title 5 times. He has so far scored a total of 5319 runs at an average of 39.40, which includes 24 half-centuries. He has also taken 45 stumpings and 153 catches in wicketkeeping during this period. Dhoni has captained the most number of 226 matches in IPL, in which the team has won 133 matches, while it has faced defeat in 91 matches.
