Today's History... Do you know that the first test drive of a luxury car started on this day? Yes, today we are going to tell you about this interesting history through this news. The name of the luxury car being talked about is Mercedes. On this day itself, on 22nd November, the company started its test drive. Let us now tell you how it got its name and when the Mercedes brand name was legally registered.

On 22 November 1990, the first car to be produced under the Mercedes name was driven to its inaugural drive in Cannstatt, Germany. The car was built specifically for its buyer, Emil Jellinek, an entrepreneur with a passion for fast, exotic cars. Jelinek had the Mercedes car built by the German company Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft.

It was lighter and much smoother than any car the company had made before, and Jellinek was confident that it would win races so easily that people would be so eager to buy the car as soon as they saw it, and so they did. Now let's talk about how it got its name... So the company agreed to name its new machine after Jelinek's 11-year-old daughter, Mercedes, so this is how this luxury car got its name.

In 1886, German engineers Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach built the world's first horseless carriage, a four-wheeled car with an engine. In 1889 the two men built the world's first four-wheeled automobile powered by a four-stroke engine. They then formed Daimler-Motoren Gesellschaft the next year.

In 1896, Emil Jellinek saw an advertisement for D-M-G Auto in a German magazine, then, according to the story, he traveled to D-M-G's Cannstatt factory, wearing a pith helmet, pince-nez, and mutton chop sideburns. They took to the factory floor and demanded that the company sell them the most luxurious car.

That car was very strong, but it could only go at a speed of 15 mph. Then in 898, he ordered two more cars with the condition that they would go at least 10 mph faster than the first car. Will be able to move at hourly speed. At the same time, he needed a racing car that could go even faster and would make him the world's best speedster (to be named a Mercedes), so he would buy 36 of them.

The new Mercedes car was fast. It also introduced an aluminum crankcase, magnelium bearings, a pressed-steel frame, a new type of coil-spring clutch, and a honeycomb radiator (which Mercedes uses today). It was longer, wider, and lower than the Phoenix and had better brakes. Along with this, the most special thing in this was that a mechanic could convert the new Mercedes from a two-seater racer to a four-seater family car in a few minutes. After this, in 1902 the company legally registered the Mercedes brand name.
