Mark Zuckerberg Announces AI Voice Translation for Reels in Hindi, Portuguese, English, and Spanish
META: Meta has added Hindi and Portuguese to its AI translation feature for Instagram and Facebook Reels. Reels will now auto-translate in your own voice, eliminating language barriers for both creators and viewers.
Social media company Meta has released its AI-powered video translation feature for Hindi and Portuguese. With this, creators can automatically dub their videos in other languages using their own voice, while allowing viewers to view them in their preferred language. This feature was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a video. He stated that Reels translation is now available in Hindi, Portuguese, English, and Spanish, with more languages to be added in the future.
Each translated Reel will display a "Translated with Meta AI" tag to let users know they're watching a video translated by AI. Meta says this feature will not only break the language barrier but also help creators reach a global audience. The company said in a statement, "Many creators want to reach a global audience. Keeping their needs in mind, we launched this feature so they can easily share their Reels in different languages."
This Meta feature recognizes the creator's voice and tone and translates it into another language. This makes the video appear as if the creator is speaking the new language.
