England easily won their group matches against Nepal, Scotland, and Italy, but they were thoroughly beaten by the West Indies. In the Super 8s, Brook and his team progressed to the semi-finals without losing to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and New Zealand.
Brook told Sky Sports Cricket, "We're winning close matches, and that's the sign of a good team. I've learned that you're never out of the game. I know I have players with a lot of character, who want to win. They want to win a lot, but they also remain calm under pressure."
He says this confidence is what makes England a strong team in the semi-final against the hosts. Emphasizing England's aggressive approach, he said, "I want to make it as difficult as possible for the batsmen at all times."
