Wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma, who has previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, will be seen playing for Baroda cricket team rather than Vidarbha in the following domestic cricket season 2025-26. The news was provided by Vidarbha Cricket Association CEO Farooq Dastur. He said on Wednesday, Jitesh Sharma, an important member of IPL 2025 champion Royal Challengers Bangalore, has been issued NOC.

According to a report, Jitesh has a deep friendship with his RCB teammate Krunal Pandya. Krunal Pandya was a teammate during the team's first IPL win in June. Both of them did not play Ranji Trophy last season and Pandya's aim is to build a Baroda team that can win the domestic title in the upcoming season. All these things are forcing Jitesh to leave Vidarbha.

The first talks of Jitesh leaving Vidarbha before the domestic season surfaced when he touched the pitch at the VCA Stadium Nagpur and made a sign of 'it's over' with his hands. This was a post-match gesture, which was recorded by broadcaster DD Sports. He led his team Neco Master Blasters to victory in the Vidarbha Pro T20 League final with a seven-wicket win over Pagaria Strikers.
