India’s Dominant 4-1 Win Over South Korea Brings Asia Cup Title and World Cup Qualification
Hockey Asia Cup 2025: India not only won its fourth Asia Cup title, but also got direct qualification for the Hockey World Cup to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands next year.
In the men's Asia Cup hockey tournament final held in Rajgir, Bihar, India, the team performed brilliantly and won the title by defeating defending champion South Korea 4-1. When the players arrived at Amritsar International Airport, they received a warm welcome. Family members and fans greeted the players with flowers and garlands.
Indian hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh said, "We are very happy with this victory. Hockey is a team sport. Whoever scores the goal, in the end, you are scoring goals for the team. We will take some rest before the World Cup. We hope to improve our weaknesses during the training camp." Punjab is currently experiencing floods, and life here is in chaos. Harmanpreet Singh said, "Punjab is going through a very tough time right now. I believe we can get through this difficult period by supporting each other. We are doing our part."
Hardik Singh said, "We are very happy to have qualified for the World Cup. We aim to win the gold medal. Our focus is to give our best against every team we face. The hardships faced by flood-affected people can only be understood by reaching out. I urge everyone to raise awareness via social media and help those impacted by the floods."
