He said that in 2022 we had only one space startup and after opening the space sector for private participation in 2024 we have about 200 startups and many of them have global potential. In just a few months, private sector investment of Rs 1000 crore has come in the space sector.

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) Jitendra Singh on Thursday said that India is ready to send the first manned mission to space and deep sea by 2025. Four passengers have been selected for India's human space mission Gaganyaan.

Air Force Group Captain Prashant Balakrishnan Nair, Ajit Krishnan and Angad Pratap, as well as Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla, are among those involved. The ISRO Gaganyaan mission's purpose is to launch a manned three-day trip into space and return after orbiting 400 kilometers above the Earth.

Simultaneously, India's deep-sea expedition would send three Indians to the seafloor in 2025. The crew expedition will be dispatched to a depth of 6,000 meters in the Indian Ocean aboard Matsya 6000, a Ministry of Earth Sciences effort called Samudrayaan.
