Hyderabad is the venue for the opening game of the series between India and England. India has amassed 421 runs for 7 wickets as of stumps. India has a 175-run lead after the first innings. India's second day did not get off to a good start.

After scoring 80 runs on the fourth ball of the first over, Yashasvi was dismissed by Root. Subsequently, Shubman Gill and Jadeja advanced the innings; however, Gill also promptly lost his wicket. Hartley gave Duckett a masterful delivery, and then he left the pavilion.

Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul formed a half-century partnership in such a circumstance. KL Rahul and Jadeja again shared a partnership of 65 runs for the fifth wicket following the dismissal of Shreyas Iyer. Rehan Ahmed got caught by Hartley, but he showed Shreyas the way to the pavilion.

Joe Root and Tom Hartley took 2-2 wickets for England. Other than this, Jack Leach and Rehan Ahmed shared a wicket each.
