Hero MotoCorp has introduced the new Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition in the Indian market for Rs 1.67 lakh approx. (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for the new Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition are beginning from December 18, 2024, and the special edition is priced Rs 3,000 higher than the Pro version. The model is based on the existing XPulse 200 4V Pro and features a number of upgrades including a new Dakar-inspired livery.

The Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition is based on the Pro variant and gets no mechanical changes. The special edition gets a new Dakar logo on the fuel tank, a silhouette of the bike hitting the dune, and location coordinates which take it a notch higher. There are also new graphics on the side and tail panels.

Based on the Pro variant, the XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar gets an adjustable front suspension with 250mm travel while the ground clearance is 270mm. The bike continues to offer ABS with the addition of three ride modes-road, off-road, and rally. Other new features include a rally-style windshield, new knuckle guards with closed loops, and a USB charger.

The Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition comes with revised ergonomics featuring handlebar risers. Which improves the standing riding stance. The bike gets dual-purpose tires on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. The XPulse 200 4V also has disc brakes on both sides.

The Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition draws its power from a 199.6 cc single-cylinder engine. This engine produces 18.9 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 17.35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed gearbox. As of now, its delivery is likely to begin in a few weeks.

The Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition could not have arrived at a better time, considering the upcoming Dakar journey of Hero MotoSports Team Rally-which is the 2025 Dakar Rally to be held in Saudi Arabia, starting on January 3. The riders include Ross Branch, Sebastian Buhler, and Nacho Cornejo.

Besides these motorcycles, the company will also introduce the next-generation XPulse 210 in 2025 showcased at EICMA 2024. The new Hero XPulse 210 gets an all-new 210 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor borrowed from the Karizma XMR along with a new design, livery, and more features. The XPulse 200 4V and XPulse 210 will be sold together but at different prices, as the latter is going to come across as more powerful and capable. Prices and other details could become known early next year.
