Goa Records All-Time High Tourist Arrivals in 2025 With 10.8 Million Visitors
Goa Tourism: Goa is projected to record a record number of 10.8 million tourists in 2025, including over 500,000 foreign tourists. This figure is significantly higher than previous years. Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that Goa's tourist craze is once again on the rise.
Known for its beautiful beaches and stunning architectural marvels, Goa has shown a record influx of tourists in the year 2025. A record number of 10.8 million tourists was witnessed in Goa in 2025, with more than 500,000 foreign tourists. According to reports, the number of tourists in Goa in 2025 is up compared to the previous years.
From the data offered by the Goa state tourism department on Sunday, Goa has received a total of 10,284,608 domestic and 517,802 foreign visitors in 2025, thus totaling 10,802,410 visitors. Foreign visitors arriving in Goa through charter flights feature prominently in Goa's tourism arrivals from source markets.
Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khunte said on Sunday (January 11) that the government's focus is on promoting quality tourism, diversifying markets, and advancing the coastal state's vision of regenerative tourism, ensuring that its growth benefits local communities, the environment, and the economy in the long run.

It should be noted that Goa, once a hub of foreign tourists, has faced a decline in the tourism industry over the past several years. The data revealed that tourist arrivals in Goa have seen distinct phases of growth, stagnation, and recovery. In 2017, the state received 6,895,234 domestic tourists and 890,459 foreign tourists, bringing the total to 7,785,693.
According to the data, moderate growth continued in 2018 and 2019 (before COVID-19), with total arrivals reaching 8,015,400 and 8,064,400, respectively. It states that this upward trend continued in 2023 and 2024 (after COVID-19), with total arrivals reaching 8,628,162 and 1,0409,196, respectively.
In terms of international visitors (foreign tourists), Goa received 1,024 charter flights in 2017, bringing in 249,374 foreign tourists, which gradually declined to 799 flights and 216,738 tourists in 2019. The tourism department said the impact of the opening of Manohar International Airport (in Mopa, North Goa) was reflected in the 2023 data, when charter operations were recorded at both Mopa and Dabolim airports, with a total of 356 flights and 72,795 tourists.
