Discussion between NNPG leaders and central representative AK Mishra to find a political solution
Naga Peace Talk: The meeting also discussed developing consensus among Naga political groups and stakeholders. So that the issue can be resolved on a broad basis without excluding any stakeholder.

AK Mishra, the government negotiator in the Naga dialogue, met the members of the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) on Thursday. The Naga leaders briefed him about the latest developments and repeated the call for a political solution.
The meeting also discussed consensus among the political stakeholders and political groupings in the Naga. Thus, the issue could be resolved at the mass level and all the stakeholders could be included. A report by the NNPG expressed the latest effort to build consensus among the political contesting groupings in the Naga. Sources included the representatives from the central government to engage in negotiations with the representatives from the NSCN-IM on Friday.
The Centre and the NSCN-IM had signed a ceasefire in 1997, which led to talks for a political solution to the long-running conflict. After over 70 rounds of talks, the Centre signed a framework agreement with the NSCN-IM in 2015. However, the Centre has not accepted the demand for a separate flag and constitution for the Nagas, due to which the talks have been prolonged. The NSCN-IM is adamant on its demand for a separate flag and constitution for Nagaland.
