AFSPA in Nagaland: The Central Government has declared 8 districts and 21 police stations of Nagaland as disturbed. With this, the Central Government has extended AFSPA for the next 6 months in all these places. The Central Government has issued a notification regarding this. This decision has been taken after reviewing the law and order situation in the states.
The central government has declared 8 districts and 21 police stations of Nagaland as disturbed. With this, the Central Government has extended AFSPA for the next 6 months in all these places. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced a notification. In which it was said that AFSPA has been extended for the next six months in Dimapur, Newland, Chumaukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek and Peren districts of Nagaland.
Additionally, the scope of AFSPA has been expanded to include areas under the jurisdiction of five districts in Nagaland, five police stations in Kohima, six police stations each in Zunheboto and Mokokchung, three police stations in Wokha, and the Yanglok police station in Longleng district.
