The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced a notification. In which it was said that AFSPA has been extended for the next six months in Dimapur, Newland, Chumaukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek and Peren districts of Nagaland.
Additionally, the scope of AFSPA has been expanded to include areas under the jurisdiction of five districts in Nagaland, five police stations in Kohima, six police stations each in Zunheboto and Mokokchung, three police stations in Wokha, and the Yanglok police station in Longleng district.
These 21 police stations are located in the following districts: Wokha district has Bhandari, Champang, and Ralan police stations; Zunheboto district has Ghatashi, Pughoboto, Satakha, Suruhuto, Zunheboto, and Aghunato police stations; Khuzama district has Kohima North, Kohima South, Zubza, and Kezocha police stations; Mokokchung district has Mangkolemba, Mokokchung-I, Longtho, Tuli, Longkem, and Anaki 'C' police stations; Yanglok police station is located in Longleng district; and Mokokchung district has Mangkolemba, Mokokchung-I, Longtho, Tuli, Longkem, and Anaki 'C' police stations.
The districts of Dimapur, Niuland, Chumaukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek and Peren in Nagaland and areas of Nagaland fall under the jurisdiction of i) Khuzama, Kohima North, Kohima South, Jubza and Kezocha police stations in Kohima district, the notification said. Are; ii) Mangkolemba, Mokokchung-I, Longtho, Tuli, Longkem and Anaki 'C' police stations in Mokokchung district; iii) Yanglok Police Station in Longleng District; iv) Bhandari, Champang and Ralan police stations in Wokha district; and v) Ghatashi, Pughoboto, Satakha, Suruhuto, Zunheboto and Aghunato police stations of Zunheboto district declared as 'disturbed areas' under Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 for six months from April 1, 2023. is done.
