MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have suffered a huge setback before the start of IPL 2024. Star opening batsman Devon Conway will not take the field till May due to injury. Due to this, he is not even playing the ongoing Test series against Australia. Now New Zealand Cricket, while giving an update on Conway's injury, has said that Conway has to undergo surgery on his thumb. Because of this, he will remain away from the cricket field for 8 weeks.

Devon Conway has played an important role in making Chennai Super Kings champion for a record 5 times. Even in the last season of IPL, he was the highest scorer of 672 runs for CSK. In the final, Conway played an inning of 47 runs in 25 balls and was also chosen Player of the Match.
