On Saturday, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said that it has succeeded in restarting its Vikas Liquid Engine at a test facility at the Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri. The space agency said that the Vikas engine is a working engine that powers the liquid stages of ISRO's launch vehicles.

According to a statement issued by ISRO, this test was done on January 17. This is a milestone in the development of technologies for the recovery of stages. Several tests are being conducted to restart the engine under different conditions.

ISRO said, 'In this test, the engine was started for 60 seconds, then it was turned off for 120 seconds, then restarted. During the test, all parameters of the engine were normal and as per expectations. Earlier this test was also conducted in December last year.
