Manipur Police arrested a member of the banned militant organization United People's Party of Kangleipak ​​(UPPK) from Kakching district. An official gave this information on Sunday. He said that the militant was arrested from the Hianglam Lai Pangamba area of ​​​​Kakching on Saturday. The security forces seized a single-bore barrel (sniper), a country-made rifle, a carbine magazine, three .303 magazines, a hand grenade, a detonator, ammunition, and other items.

Police and CRPF teams destroyed 25 acres of illegal poppy cultivation in the Kangpokpi district of Manipur. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh gave this information. He posted on social media platform X that a significant achievement under the war against drugs initiative, a joint team of Kangpokpi district police and two platoons of 133 Bn CRPF destroyed 25 acres of poppy cultivation during a special operation at Y Langkhong village in Kangpokpi. The Chief Minister said that such operations are important in tackling the drug menace.
