In the accident that took place near Delhi Public School at around 6 am, seven people died on the spot due to burning alive and three people died during treatment in the hospital.

On Friday morning in Jaipur, on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, in the Bhankrota area, a tanker full of LPG gas took a U-turn and an explosion took place. In the accident that took place near Delhi Public School at around 6 am, seven people died on the spot due to burning alive and three people died during treatment in the hospital. About three dozen people are burnt. Out of these, the condition of 10 is critical. One of them died late at night. A total of 12 people died in the accident.

The fire from the tanker was so fierce that more than 40 vehicles passing through the highway and standing nearby were burnt to ashes. A private sleeper bus going from Udaipur to Jaipur also got burnt. There were 34 passengers in the bus, out of which 20 were burnt. The bus was running behind the tanker. After the fire was extinguished, the bodies of three people were taken to the hospital from the spot. The driver and bus conductor are missing.

After the gas leaked from the tanker, many birds were also burnt by the flames of about 200 feet high. The President, Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, Governor, and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal have expressed deep sorrow over the incident. Prime Minister Modi has posted on X and announced financial assistance of two lakh rupees to the relatives of the deceased in the accident and 50 thousand rupees to the injured.

On receiving the information of the incident, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Medical Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar first reached the hospital and then the spot. The Medical Minister said that more than four dozen people were burnt in the accident, out of which 11 died. 26 out of 35 injured have been identified. The Union Home Minister talked to CM Bhajan Lal and inquired about the situation. The state government has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of the deceased and Rs 2 lakh each to the injured kin.

Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said that the safety valves and nozzles fitted at the bottom of the tanker filled with gas broke after the collision. About 18 tonnes of gas spilled into the air from the nozzle of the tanker. The area up to half a kilometer from the spot became a gas chamber.

Due to the collision of the truck with the nozzle, sparking occurred and fire broke out, then one by one many vehicles got caught in it. Due to the fire, vehicles running at high speed on both sides of the Jaipur and Ajmer highway collided with each other, some vehicles overturned. One of the vehicles that collided was filled with gas cylinders in a truck, luckily they did not fall down.

A truck was carrying cloth garments that were torn and also caught fire. Yet another truck was carrying match sticks, which, when it turned turtle, large cartons of matches spilled on the road, the fire spread from these also. After the incident people who lived in the two km radius were asked to stay indoors. Holidays were declared in nearby schools.

People residing within a one-kilometre radius of the spot were shifted to safer places for a few hours. Due to the fire, the helmet of a bike rider got glued to his face. His eye has been burnt. He is being treated in critical condition.

The Deputy Manager of Gail India Company Sushant Singh said that due to the collision five nozzles fitted in the tanker broke and fell down and the gas spread all around. The eyewitnesses and administrative officials said that the gas coming out of the nozzle of the tanker caught fire. The gas spreading rapidly in the air made the accident horrific. The bus did not have a permit. The sleeper bus of a private travel company, which was reduced to ashes in the accident, was being operated without a permit. In fact, the permit for the bus had expired in August last year.

A passenger of the bus said that most of the passengers were in deep sleep at the time of the accident. Eyewitnesses said that many people were running to escape the fire by taking off their clothes.

Woman police constable Anita Meena died in the accident. Anita was leaving for duty, she died in a fire in a private vehicle. Anita was identified by the nail polish and toe ring on her feet. 28-year-old Anita has a ten-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old son.
