Two Indian LPG Tankers Safely Cross Strait of Hormuz Amid War, Set to Reach India Soon
Two Indian LPG tankers, "Pine Gas" and "Jag Vasant," have safely passed through the war-torn Strait of Hormuz. These ships are carrying 92,612 tons of LPG, equivalent to India's daily consumption.
Two Indian-flagged LPG tankers have successfully traversed the treacherous Strait of Hormuz and are expected to reach Indian shores in the next two days. Each vessel is carrying a day's requirement of cooking gas for India and hence together they carry the same amount of LPG that India requires in a day.
According to media reports, ship tracking data indicates that the LPG tankers Pine Gas and Jag Vasant departed the Persian Gulf on Monday morning, traveling closely together, and then transited the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Special Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, both ships are carrying 92,612 tons of LPG. This amount of gas can fill approximately 6.521 million domestic cylinders.
