Telecom companies did not like TRAI's new rules, rule of giving compensation to customers for bad service
COAI, the organization of mobile service-providing companies, expressed its displeasure on Sunday about this and said that the new rules will increase their cost. That is, it can also affect call and data rates. COAI Director General Lieutenant General SP Kochar says that TRAI constantly issues new guidelines to improve service quality.
The country has a massive telecommunication network, but its quality is far from being impressive. Now, its Telecom Regulator TRAI has come out with new guidelines for improving quality. This includes compensation in case of interruption in mobile services beyond 24 hours and penalty for wrong information about quality. All these guidelines are not liked by the companies.
The body of companies providing mobile service expressed its displeasure about it on Sunday and said that the new rules will increase their cost. That is, it can also affect call and data rates. TRAI keeps issuing new guidelines to improve service quality, according to COAI Director General Lieutenant General SP Kochar.
It has a developed telecommunications network, but its quality is still far from satisfactory. Now, with a view to improving quality, new guidelines have been issued by Telecom Regulator TRAI. This charter compensates mobile service interruption for more than 24 hours and penalizes those entities that misinform about quality. Companies are not too fond of these guidelines. "TRAI is constantly bringing out guidelines for improving quality of service," said General SP Kochar of TRAI. But it does not take any step to solve the problems of the companies. COAI says that call quality is very important for them too and for this, they will keep discussing with the concerned agencies.
Mobile companies say that they are currently engaged in expanding 5G services, for which they have to spend a lot of money. On the other hand, the problem of illegal installation of boosters and theft of machines remains the same. TRAI's new guidelines are worrying. According to the new rules, companies will have to submit service quality reports every month. Currently, this report has to be submitted in three months.
