OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Atlas with Smart Agent Mode and Memory Features
OpenAI Atlas: OpenAI has launched its first AI web browser, ChatGPT Atlas, which not only searches the internet but can also perform smart tasks like researching, shopping, and planning websites on behalf of the user.
Marking another major leap forward in the field of artificial intelligence, OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Atlas on Tuesday, marking another significant milestone. This is the company's first AI-based web browser. It is OpenAI's third consumer product, following ChatGPT and Sora. Currently, it is only available for macOS and uses the GPT-5 model.
ChatGPT Atlas was introduced during a live event, showcasing its key features. This browser looks simple, but it boasts the power of the GPT-5 model. The company says that support for Windows, iOS, and Android will be added soon. Currently, the basic version is available to all users, while the Agent feature is available only to paid subscribers.
Atlas's home page is similar to the ChatGPT interface, with recent chats displayed in a side panel. Here, users can either type in a question or directly access a website by entering its URL. The browser also comes with a smart sidebar assistant that can help with content understanding, product comparisons, or data analysis on any tab.
