Meta removed more than 3.7 crore bad content from Facebook and Instagram, Government of India issued new rules

Meta said it removed more than 33.6 million pieces of content across 13 Facebook policies and more than 3.4 million pieces of content across 12 Instagram policies in India in October. Meta said it removed more than 33.6 million pieces of content across 13 Facebook policies and more than 3.4 million pieces of content across 12 Instagram policies in India in October. In October this year, Facebook had received 12,960 complaints from India.

It said that in 5,201 cases, users were provided tools to resolve their issues. These include downloading data for specific violations and reporting content, Meta said in its monthly report. Ways to address account hacked issues etc.

Meta said that out of the other seven thousand 759 reports where special review was required. We reviewed the content under our policies and took action on a total of 2,132 reports. The remaining five thousand 627 reports were reviewed, but no action was taken. The company on Instagram received 8,252 reports through the Indian complaint mechanism.
