Images: On Saturday, a tough match was played between India and South Africa for the T20 World Cup. In this, India won the toss and decided to bat first. But after the fall of wickets of players like Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant, this game became slow, whereas Virat Kohli and Akshar Patel played a tremendous innings.

While Virat Kohli scored 76 runs, Akshar Patel scored 47 runs, including one four and four sixes in 31 balls. India scored 72 runs in the pairing of both. Shivam Dubey scored 27 runs, including three fours and a six in 16 balls. The Indian team had set a target of 176 runs in 20 overs for South Africa.

The Indian team started pressing them by taking two wickets from the initial overs of South Africa's team chasing the target. But also, Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs built a 58-run partnership that brought them back into the game. On the other side, Heinrich Klaasen's 52 runs in 27 balls did worry them a bit.

The South African team, however, was brilliantly restricted to 169 runs by the Indian bowlers with eight wickets. For the Indians, Arshdeep and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each, and Hardik raided them with three wickets to bring victory closer to their side. South Africa had only managed 169 runs in 20 overs.

In every city and locality of India, there is a festive atmosphere after the victory. Till late at night, people kept burning crackers and expressing their happiness by playing drums. For his exemplary performance, Virat Kohli got the Player of the Match award. The victory has been congratulated by President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and many other leaders and fellow citizens. The Japanese Ambassador to India posted on X, congratulating the Indian team. He said: 'Heartiest Congratulations, Team India, for the victory. I am happy with India's victory.
