Neymar Donates ₹2.1 Crore for Venezuela Earthquake Relief as Brazil Receives World Cup Fitness Boost
Brazilian star footballer Neymar Jr. has donated US$250,000 to help earthquake victims in Venezuela. Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that Neymar's fitness has improved rapidly and he could play longer in the knockout match against Japan.
Neymar Jr., one of the best footballers from Brazil, has been very generous outside the arena. The famous athlete has contributed US$250,000 (₹2.1 crore) to aid the victims of an earthquake that struck Venezuela. As per a news portal from Venezuela, El Sumario, the contribution will be used for rescue and relief purposes by providing food, drinking water, medicines, and accommodation to the victims. Neymar assured the people of Venezuela that he was thinking about them at this difficult period and wished that his donation provided some relief and confidence to the affected families. He stated, "My heart goes out to the people of Venezuela."
According to a CNN report, Jorge Rodriguez, President of Venezuela's National Assembly, stated that at least 1,430 people have died so far in the two devastating earthquakes that struck on Wednesday. 3,238 people have been injured, and 3,142 families have been displaced after losing their homes.
According to the report, relief and rescue operations are continuing, but the lack of heavy machinery and the constant aftershocks are posing significant difficulties. Several smaller tremors were also felt after the two earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, making the situation even more challenging.
