ICC took big action against America's National Cricket League as Jay became the chairman

ICC has taken big action against the cricket league after former BCCI secretary Jay Shah became the chairman. ICC has banned America's National Cricket League (NCL) for violating the rules. It is alleged that ICC rules were being openly violated in the National Cricket League of the USA. More than half of the foreign players were playing in the playing eleven. Last year itself, along with approving many T20 and T10 leagues around the world, the ICC was also strictly instructed to follow the rules, but after a year, the National Cricket League of USA was banned for not following the rules.

According to a Cricbuzz report, the ICC informed USA Cricket (USAC) through a letter about its decision to not allow the league for future editions. It clearly states that this step has been taken mainly due to non-compliance with the playing eleven rules. 7 USAC affiliated or associate players were fielded in the league. NCL officials were already aware of the rules.

By appointing legends like Wasim Akram and Vivian Richards as brand ambassadors, the interest of the fans in the USA National Cricket League had increased. Along with that, the ownership group comprised Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar. Yet the league failed to remove the operational inefficiencies from the very beginning with star players.
