Ashutosh Sharma holds the record of fifty in 11 balls in IPL 2025, beating bowlers against Lucknow

In the fourth match of IPL 2025, 26-year-old Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh-born Ashutosh Sharma's stormy innings for Delhi Capitals pulled victory from the jaws of Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow was in command of the match for some time. Delhi Capitals batsmen were struggling to score runs. But with his fine innings, Ashutosh Sharma led Delhi Capitals to a one-wicket win over Lucknow by hitting a six in the 20th over. He was adjudged the Player of the Match for his innings.

Ashutosh Sharma said, "I want to dedicate this award to my guru Shikhar (Dhawan) paaji." Ashutosh said that he was confident that he could lead Delhi Capitals to victory and he likes playing the role of a finisher. Ashutosh Sharma came into the limelight in 2023 after scoring the fastest half-century in 11 balls by an Indian in T20 against Arunachal Pradesh. He made his debut in 2018 while playing for Madhya Pradesh. In 2024, he made his first-class cricket debut. Impressed by his ball-striking abilities, Punjab Kings first bought him for 20 lakhs. Sharma played some good innings for Punjab. On the basis of Sharma's performance, he was bought by Delhi Capitals in 2025 for Rs 3.8 crore.

Ashutosh Sharma, who played a stormy innings for Delhi, said after the conclusion of the match that when the match was in the last over and Mohit Sharma had to play the first ball, I was not tense. I was fully confident. If Mohit takes a run, I will be able to hit a six off the next ball. I had full faith in my ability. When the 26-year-old came to the crease, DC was struggling at 65/5 in the seventh over. The required run rate was around 10 and chasing a big score like 210 looked impossible after losing so many wickets.
