Shock to Chinese citizen, SC refuses to grant bail; Noida Police had arrested him two years ago
A Chinese citizen has got a shock from the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The court has refused to grant bail to the Chinese citizen. The court said that the petitioner can go to the High Court after the expiry of the 6-month period. He is accused of staying in the country even after the visa period has expired and running an international crime racket and being involved in illegal activities.
The Supreme Court refused to grant bail to a Chinese citizen. The court said that the allegations against the petitioner are of very serious nature. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra said on Tuesday that in view of the seriousness of the crime, the court will not consider the petition seeking bail at present. The case is still pending.
After the six-month period has expired, the petitioner may file an application in the High Court. This choice is open. Ryan, alias Ren Chao, a Chinese citizen, filed an appeal with the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court's July 31 decision.
Ren Chao has been accused of remaining in the country after his visa expired, running an international crime ring, and engaging in illegal activities. Ren Chao was arrested by the Noida Police on July 9, 2022, on charges of fraud, forgery, and conspiracy. He was also prosecuted under the Foreigners Act.
