Searches for suspected terrorists continue after an army base in Kathua was attacked before Republic Day

A week before Republic Day, terrorists on Saturday fired at an army camp in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. After a few rounds of firing, a search operation has been initiated for suspected terrorists. The Indian Army on Saturday said it saw suspicious movement in the Bhatodi area of Kathua late last night. The army said that firing took place and a few rounds were fired. The search operation is going on. During this, the army also retaliated. However, there is no news of any casualties yet.
On January 21, the firing took place in the Jewel Chowk area of Jammu. A police team from Jammu and Kashmir, after getting information about the firing incident, reached the spot and started investigating the incident. Earlier, a search operation that was conducted in Jalora of Sopore turned into a fierce encounter, in which one security forces personnel was killed. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone VK Birdi gave this information on January 22.
As per Patrika, giving information about the operation, IGP Birdi said that a search operation was carried out in Jalora, Sopore, and during this, a hideout was busted. During this, there was a firing which turned into an encounter, and in this, a jawan of our security forces was injured and after that, he was martyred.
On the security arrangements for Republic Day, IGP Birdi emphasized the importance of this event especially in the valley. He said that the celebration of 26 January holds great importance, especially in the Kashmir Valley. For this, Jammu and Kashmir Police have done security-related work in its various districts so that the entire security force remains on alert. In Srinagar district also a big celebration takes place on January 26 in which a parade takes place and the general public participates in it.
