Sandeshkhali: 'If Mamata can't do it then tell us, we will catch you in an hour', Union Minister said on Shahjahan

Mamata Banerjee's government is surrounded by the issue of Sandeshkhali. Now BJP has targeted the Mamata government for not arresting Shahjahan Sheikh, the main accused in the Sandeshkhali controversy. Union Minister of State and MP from West Bengal Nishith Pramanik has said 'If Mamata Banerjee cannot arrest Shahjahan Sheikh, then tell the Center, we will arrest Shahjahan Sheikh in an hour.'

Nishith Pramanik said, 'I have said earlier also that if Mamata Banerjee's government cannot arrest him (Shahjahan Sheikh) then they should seek help from the Central Government. The central government is ready to help. We can catch him in an hour. Even today the fact-finding team was not allowed to go to Sandeshkhali and they were arrested, but when TMC leaders go there (Sandeshkhali) they are not stopped. It seems that law and order mean nothing to them. Everything is only for the opposition. The Union Minister of State said that 'on one side there is Modi ji who is trying to take the country forward and on the other side there is aunt and nephew. I want to say that when PM Modi comes here, the whole of Bengal will welcome him. Let us tell you that soon Prime Minister Modi is going to visit Bengal.

The Sandeshkhali controversy is not stopping. On Sunday, the six-member fact-finding team wanted to go to Sandeshkhali, but the police stopped them on the way. There was a lot of commotion during this period. After the uproar, the police arrested the members of the fact-finding team. However, he was released after a few hours. The Governor of Bengal has sought a report from the DGP on this matter. The fact-finding team included former Chief Justice of Patna High Court Narasimha Reddy, Charu Bali Khanna, Bhavana Bajaj, OP Vyas, Rajpal Singh and Aparna Banerjee and Bandana Biswas.
